Zhi Ma Duan Ni (sesame clay) is one type of the clay materials from which Zi Sha Teapots are made of. The teapots made of this type of clay have different colors spots , such as sesames. It's origin of Huang Long Mountain with Ding Mountain of Yixing Jiangshu Province. Zhi Ma Duan clay isn’t a common material, it is combination nature purple clay with green clay which contain lots of sand grains. These grains are very beneficial to "breathability" of the teapot . The final material is more porescent then the regular clay. Clay can be made in a several different colors which depend on final firing temperature. Usually Zhi Ma Duan clay’s teapots are made in simple and classic designs , and suitable for many types of teas, include Pu-erh tea, black tea , oolong tea , hei cha , etc.
