Excellent tea
I received the tea as a free sample. It sat for a while and then I randomly picked it to try something. Personally, I don’t usually seek out oolongs, but I have to say this one is fantastic.
You can taste cocoa/dark chocolate in it. With my next order, I’ll definitely stock up on it.
Really nice tea
I’ve got the tea sample for free. It lasts many steeps. I didn’t exhaust it after probably 6 or 7 steeps. The aroma and taste are very pleasant. Honey, floral, delicate. I would consider buying it later.
Surprisingly Excellent Tea
This tea was included as a freebie in my order. Not thinking much of it (we have many, many samples that we are trying from many companies), my tea buddy & I cracked it open. The dry leaves didn't smell all that interesting straight from the package. That's okay, this is a free sample. If we don't like it, then no big deal, right? Then we began brewing the leaves. Oh. Oh my. OH MY! This tea is delicious!! It was sweet, full of dark chocolate & dark honey flavors! We had never tried a tea with such intense chocolate flavor! Having since tried other teas with chocolate flavor, I can say this one is definitely very chocolatey, but it also has more dark honey flavor than some of the other teas. I think I prefer this tea with its honey flavor. We were both shocked how delightfully sweet this tea is.
We steeped it gong fu style & decided to end the session after 16 steeps (the final steep was 100°C for 3 minutes). I took the leaves home in a mason jar after adding boiling water & got yet another flavorful brew when I got home. Admittedly, we are gentle with our brewing when we do gong fu; we start at a lower temperature (usually 87°C), increase the time, then increase temperature slowly. We prefer the sweet flavors of our teas, so this gentle brewing is our favorite.
The quality if these leaves is nothing short of impressive. The flavor stayed strong, and the leaves just KEPT GIVING. As we drank, we kept assuming the next cup would be the last and that the flavor would start to decrease. The leaves had other ideas. I bought more beyond the free sample because this tea is exceptional. While inefficient when packing/storing for the tea vendors, I will say it's also nice that they are individually vacuum sealed. I can be sure this tea will stay amazing for a long time!
