Xia guan Tuo Cha （下关沱茶）
Xia Guan Tuo Cha ,also named Yunnan Tuo Cha that has origin from the Ming Dynasty. It is one of compressed forms of Pu Er Tea, usually it`s smaller than pu-erh tea cake,that is easily to carry to anywhere,therefore it had been popular during the Ancient
Tea Route. Xiaguan Tuo Cha is known as high quality tea with long history and typical intensive Cha Qi with smoky flavor.
Wet but clean stored vintage sheng pu-erh as expected releases dark gold tea soup. Apart of the regular bitter notes there is a some sweet base at the background showing up after wet-wood texture at the beginning. This could be a good option for those who like old teas but not afraid of wet storage.

Shu pu-erh from Xiaguan company made for Tibetan monks. Pressed tuo in traditional mushroom shape gives clean dark red tea soup which is rich and sweet . Nice dry storage with woody notes giving to tea an old taste. Although this tuo is not that old, but it had gone through the aging process which is noticeable in taste.
Hard pressed tuo from 2012 which is made only for export to Taiwan. The fruity scent will fill your room if you brew it in gaiwan. Intensive Smoky notes are present of course but dominating "cha qi" will really heat you up. Comfortable sweet mouth feel along with gentle "hui gan". Very good drinker for the cold days!
Pleasant taste of selected top grade tea material and pressed tuo from Xiaguan company well balanced with light smokey notes and sweet mouth feel after. Very good daily drinker for reasonable price or decent candidate for storage if u manage to resist and not drink it for few years. Identically similar box and wrapper inside with 2016y makes a bit confusing. Although this one is 2014 year, not full 2 years difference is between those two, since 14 is autumn and 16 is spring one. However, there is a bit difference in flavor.This tuo has much settled taste without "dui wei" notes and releases its creamy richness after 3+ infusions....

Meaty flavor will fade away with 2nd steep and persistent typical smoky flavor is accompanied by gentle sweetness. Noticeably bitter but not astringent tea liquor will gain on sweetness if you play around with brewing time.
